terms of use

Last updated: June 12, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Recess websites, quizzes, checkout flows, emails, and related services. By using Recess, you agree to these terms.

what Recess does

Recess helps people build calmer phone boundaries through a quiz, subscription plans, app-blocking features, missions, reminders, and related account experiences. Recess is designed for personal behavior support and is not medical, mental health, emergency, or professional advice.

eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to buy a Recess subscription. You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and for using Recess only where lawful.

subscriptions and billing

Paid Recess plans renew automatically unless canceled. Plan length, price, renewal timing, taxes, cancellation, and refund details are explained in the Subscription Policy shown during checkout.

acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Recess, attempt to interfere with its systems, copy or resell the service, bypass payment or access controls, submit unlawful content, or use Recess to harm others.

availability and changes

We may update, pause, or discontinue parts of Recess as we improve the product. Some features may depend on iOS permissions, Apple platform behavior, third-party services, or network availability.

third-party services

Payments are processed by Stripe. Email, analytics, and account infrastructure may be provided by trusted service providers. Their services may have their own terms and privacy practices.

disclaimers

Recess is provided as-is and as available. We do not promise that the service will eliminate phone use, guarantee specific outcomes, or operate without interruption.

limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Recess Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of Recess.

changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
